In perfumery, the perfumer is often portrayed as an author.
A solitary creator. An artistic sensibility able to translate emotions into formulas.<\/p>\n
It\u2019s a fascinating story. But it\u2019s incomplete.<\/p>\n
In the project we developed with Raffaella, what struck us from the start wasn\u2019t the olfactory quality, which was already outstanding, but the clarity of vision<\/strong> with which she approached her role.<\/p>\n She didn\u2019t ask us to \u201cproduce a perfume\u201d. This distinction changes everything.<\/p>\n The fragrance already existed. It was strong, recognizable, technically flawless.<\/p>\n But a fragrance on its own isn\u2019t a project.<\/p>\n So the first job was to change the question: We worked on:<\/p>\n real (not aspirational) positioning<\/p>\n<\/li>\n sustainable price range<\/p>\n<\/li>\n a concrete target audience<\/p>\n<\/li>\n channels compatible with that kind of language<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n Only once these elements were clear did the fragrance start to \u201cwork\u201d outside the lab as well.<\/p>\n One of the most delicate stages of the project was the design.<\/p>\n Not because there was a lack of ideas, but because the risk of over-interpreting<\/strong> the fragrance was very high.<\/p>\n When a fragrance is strong, design can:<\/p>\n amplify it<\/p>\n<\/li>\n or betray it<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n We chose a clear path: the design had to translate<\/strong>, not explain.<\/p>\n Every choice, materials, proportions, weight, finishes, was assessed against one key question: We didn\u2019t pursue originality for its own sake. We pursued legible consistency<\/strong>.<\/p>\n In many projects, production is a technical phase. Here it was an ethical phase.<\/p>\n Every production choice had a direct impact on:<\/p>\n margins<\/p>\n<\/li>\n repeatability<\/p>\n<\/li>\n the project\u2019s sustainability<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n We worked to avoid two common mistakes:<\/p>\n production that is \u201ctoo ambitious\u201d<\/p>\n<\/li>\n \u201cdefensive\u201d production<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n The result was a solid production system that doesn\u2019t put the brand under pressure with every reorder.<\/p>\n This project makes one thing clear: Raffaella didn\u2019t look for shortcuts. She embraced the complexity.
